Tabitha Bartoe’s Lead Me Back to the Path has clinched the 2025 Regal Summit Book Award in the Non‑Genre / Literary Fiction category, chosen from a field of exceptional titles such as Southern‑Fried Woolf by Drema Drudge, The Other Book by Alexey L. In this fictional novel Bartoe wrote in her 7th grade Language Arts class, readers are taken on a moving journey of resilience, friendship and a little more along the way. When Madi Shields faces an unexpected move and the heartbreak of her best friend Adam Holmes enduring a family tragedy, she becomes his source of strength and at the end, he becomes hers. Together, they honor Celia, Adam sister’s through serving, Adam in the military and Madi serving through her passion for meteorology.
This award highlights Bartoe’s ability to weave together themes of grief, healing and hope through her strong work of literary fiction that was in her mind for many years.
