Bartoe’s first book, When Spite Strikes, Revenge Rumbles took home the award
Award-winning author Tabitha Bartoe has added another award to her name, earning the International Impact Book Award in the Inspirational Memoir category for her deeply personal book, When Spite Strikes, Revenge Rumbles: Weathering the Beginning Storm of Life. Bartoe received the official trophy (right) in recognition of her work.

In When Spite Strikes, Revenge Rumbles, Tabitha invites readers to take a glance into her early storms in life, ones that shaped her through bullying, changing schools and the out-dated expectations of the broadcast industry. Written with honesty and sparing the names of others, Bartoe’s memoir reflects how the early bruises of life can become one’s strength in the future.
From toxic mentors and not the best relationships, to the power of supporting friend groups and unexpected detours, Bartoe shows that one can make it through anything, even when it feels like the storm of life is closing in. Bartoe mentions that when spite strikes, success is the best form of revenge. This stems from a quote that Frank Sinatra (Bartoe’s favorite singer) once said, “The best revenge is massive success.”
Bartoe’s book is a go-to for anyone that has ever been made to feel small, silenced and insufficient. It reminds the readers that the storms in life won’t last forever, but if they do return, we will be stronger than ever and find our truest selves after the storms we weather.
